✨ About the Expedition
Bush Baddies: This hike into the wilderness of the Blue Mountains is a stunning walk which is perfect for women looking for their first 3-day trip or experienced hikers searching for new trails 🌿
Starting at Blackheath Station and finishing at Mount Victoria, the walk involves hiking out of town to an awe-inspiring lookout, before dropping down into the depths of the Grose Valley on a tight and steep dirt trail which will get your legs shaking. After camping next to the river at Acacia Flats, we'll be hiking along the bottom of the valley to Burra Korain camping area for the second night. The last day will take in the majesty of Victoria Falls, before the hike out of the valley and along the ridgeline back to Mount Victoria Station.
This hike is a classic Blue Mountains bushwalk with the beauty of the Grose River rushing past, the convenience of bush toilets at both campsites and the fun of train hopping to complete this challenging loop. Spring is the perfect time for bushwalking and the wildflowers will be blooming everywhere in October, creating a riot of colour across the landscape.
🥾 The Trail
We’ll be hiking roughly 10km each day, to total 30km from station to station. The hike in drops down more than 1,000m in elevation at Perry's Lookdown and you will climb out the same elevation at Victoria Falls.
Expect:
🌿 Stunning Grose Valley views
💦 Secluded swims
⛰️ Dirt trails and a tough climb in and out
🤍 A truly remote adventure in the wilderness
This trail is a great step up in your Bush Baddie hiking era - ideal if you're ready for a longer trip⚡️
⛺️ Camping in the Grose Valley
We'll spend both nights on the Grose River, nestled into tents by the waters edge. The first night will be spent at Acacia Flats and the second at Burra Korain camping area. Both popular sites have bush toilets and are accessible only on foot, meaning the only company will be local wildlife and other kindred spirits.
We’ll come together in the evening to cook dinner, unwind, share stories and soak up that special camp energy you can only find somewhere this remote ✨
