✨ About the Expedition

Bush Baddies: If you're ready for a more intense adventure and keen to test yourself on trail, this expedition will suit you perfectly 🦋

Hike out to a this stunning camp on a secluded river bend, deep in the Colo River on this two-day expedition. This out and back hike will be a steep scramble down into the valley, after 8km on the ridgeline fire trail, to reach the dreamy campsite on the sandbank of the river. This is where we will camp under the stars, cook around the fire and swim in the river, before walking out the next day.

If you're comfortable moving over rocky terrain in steep areas, fit for a big climb up to get out of the valley (300m across 3km), and keen to get super remote, then this trip is right up your alley. It's one for the adventurous souls who crave immersion in the heart of the wilderness - and are willing to work hard to get there. All the best spots require some dirt, sweat and sometimes the odd tear.

This expedition will be a good step up for those who have done an overnight camp before, have good fitness, are keen to push their limits and expand their horizons.

🥾 The Trail

We’ll be hiking along a fire trail and then down/up a steep foot track which totals 11.6km each day; 23.2km total.

Expect:

🌿 Stunning bushland views

💦 Secluded Colo River swims

⛰️ Dirt trails and a tough hill climb out

🤍 A truly remote adventure in the wilderness

This trail is the next step on your journey as a Bush Baddie - ideal if you're ready for more intense terrain⚡️

⛺️ Camping at Canoe Creek

We'll spend the night on the iconic horseshoe bend where Canoe Creek meets the Colo River - named for the Dharug word meaning koala, for the animals you may spot in the trees on the riverbank if you're lucky. To get there you have to hike in and cross the river, so it's the ultimate spot to soak up the tranquility of sleeping by the flowing water, building a fire pit in the sand and star gazing after dinner 🐨

We’ll come together in the evening to cook dinner, unwind, share stories and soak up that special camp energy you can only find somewhere this remote ✨
