Bush Baddies: If you're ready for a more intense adventure and keen to test yourself on trail, this expedition will suit you perfectly.

Join us for two days on a stunningly secluded section of the Great North Walk at the mouth of the Hawkesbury River - which begins with an unforgettable train ride across the water and ends with a gorgeous ferry ride back to Brooklyn. You'll be walking a breathtaking section of bushy coastline; getting dirt under your nails with rough and ready camping, sweating up some hills and enjoying the total immersion in nature away from roads.

Feel the achievement of a hike which you can only access on foot, and build confidence in being self-sufficient in the wilderness by managing water supplies and pack weight. This trip is for those who have done an overnight camp before, are willing to carry a heavier pack and push their limits a little further on a short challenge 👣

🥾 The Trail

We’ll be hiking the Great North Walk trail from Wondabyne to Little Wobby, which is 18.3km across two days.

Expect:

🌿 Ancient bushland

💦 Hidden waterfalls and Hawkesbury River views

⛰️ Dirt trails and intermediate hill climbs

🤍 A truly remote adventure away from the crowds

This trail is the perfect step up on your journey as a Bush Baddie - ideal if you're ready to push your limits with a more intense overnight hike.

⛺️ Camping at Mount Wondabyne

We'll spend the night camped up on the summit of Mount Wondabyne, deep in the heart of the bush, with panoramic views of the park and Hawkesbury River. There are no facilities here, just you and what you've carried in on your back. The campground is renowned for bird watching and has a fire circle at the base of the peak - perfect for smores 🍫

We’ll come together in the evening to cook dinner, unwind, share stories and soak up that special camp energy you can only find somewhere this remote ✨

Waking up to panoramic views = worth the hike.

Prior intermediate or overnight hiking experience is advised. Our guides will still support you every step of the way, from pack fitting to pacing, rest breaks and campsite setup - however, you'll enjoy this trip more if you're happy being in the bush with zero facilities and are confident in your abilities to take on an intermediate amount of elevation.

This trip may not be suitable if:

🚫 You’re unable to walk on uneven terrain for two days

🚫 You have an injury or condition that limits carrying a pack

🚫 You struggle with intermediate elevation
