✨ About the Expedition

Bush Baddies: This tough challenge will push you to your limits, with classic Blue Mountains trails which take on rocky scrambles, huge hill climbs and panoramic views.

The Mount Solitary loop is a truly remote hike which includes views of the Three Sisters at Katoomba, the Ruined Castle, Sublime Point and Narrowneck. You'll be camping under the stars each night at a different spot along the loop, carrying all your gear and rising with the sun each morning 🌄

This trip is for those who have done several overnight hikes before, are comfortable carrying all of their supplies plus extra water, and know their packing list inside and out. It's the right expedition for you if you love exposed rocky scrambling, pushing yourself up big inclines and crave getting to the heart of deep wilderness areas - but aren't ready to do it solo yet.

We’ll be hiking on a varied mix of trails, off-track rocks, ridgelines and bushland.

The first night will be spent camping at the Ruined Castle after traversing Narrowneck from Katoomba's Echo Point lookout. You'll be looking across the Mount Solitary which you'll summit the next day after a cosy campfire and day one on trail. The next day will be the most spectacular and challenging getting up onto the iconic plateau, before dropping off the other end to stay at the Kedumba River Crossing camp area. This is where we can refill water and have a wash before taking on the long hike out the next day via Sublime Point.

We’ll come together each evening to cook dinner, unwind, share stories and soak up that special camp energy you can only find somewhere this remote ✨

Prior intermediate or overnight hiking experience is required. Our guides will still support you every step of the way, from helping with your pack fitting to pacing, rest breaks and campsite setup - however, you should only sign up for this trip if you're happy being in the bush with zero facilities and are confident in your abilities to take on challenging elevation and steep rock scrambling.

This trip may not be suitable if:
