CGC x Figure Eight Pools

Challenge yourself with this spectacular coastal hike to visit a wonder of Mother Nature in the Royal National Park🌊

🐋 The Figure Eight pools are famed for their beauty and dangerous approach. Starting from a small train station on the South Coast Line, this trail follows the cliffs along the ocean to a spot which only the brave will ever reach. After a tricky scramble along the rocky foreshore and keeping a careful eye on the tide, the most determined hikers will be rewarded with a dip in a series of natural rock pools which defy logic 🦀

This hike spans more than 14km on winding trails along the coast of the park, including more than 500m+ of tough elevation gain. The hardest climbs are on the way out, climbing back up the hills from the foreshore once you've had a dip in the pools. This hike is recommended for experienced bushwalkers.

Duration: ~7 hours including breaks

Difficulty: Intermediate

Access: Public transport via train to Otford Station

Suitable for: Those with a good level of fitness for long distance, big hill climbs and rocky scrambles.

Lunch, water, snacks, sunscreen, raincoat, swimmers and towel, hat, sturdy walking shoes.
