About the event

Join us for a hands-on workshop at Climbing Anchors in Alexandria, led by expert guide Maddie who will teach how to deal with the worst-case scenarios you can encounter outdoors. We'll explore the psychology of safety and survival, learn how to become an active participant in a rescue, and treat common illness and injuries including; hypothermia, hyperthermia, dehydration and snake bites. You'll be well on your way to cementing your bush baddie status after this workshop 🥾🍃


What's covered:


  • Psychology of survival

  • Basic first aid kit (contents and how to use them)

  • How to pack a backpack & preparing for different weather conditions

  • Hypothermia, hyperthermia and dehydration

  • Sanitising water

  • Treating common injuries - snake bites, sprained ankles

  • Emergency communication methods

Please note that this is not a first aid course and you will not gain any qualifications from this workshop.


Who is teaching the course?

Your teacher for the evening is Maddie Aliprandi, Blue Mountains Guide of the Year 2026. She's been working in the industry for almost a decade and is an expert in bush survival. She brings unlimited enthusiasm and stoke for canyon and climbing trips with Cool Girls Club. She is delivering this workshop after years of experience with Australian Survival Instructors.
